Our medical director understands that one of the greatest fears for those of you looking to undergo lip enhancement is an overdone, unnatural result, often referred to as a “trout pout”.
He treats models, actresses and women of all occupations who require a stunning yet completely natural result and he continually reassures his clients that their result will be completely natural and never overdone.
Creating the perfect lips often involves far more than just increasing their size. Care and attention must also be given to the surrounding skin, such as filling the fine lines that appear above and below the lip, lifting the corners of the mouth that can sag with age, or correcting the “nose to mouth” lines that commonly appear to frame the mouth at either end.
Neglecting these complementary enhancements can lead to an imbalance in the overall harmony between your face and lips.
The border of the lip
Augmentation in the border of your lip can instantly create a clearer edge to the lips and acts as a definition to their boarders in much the same way as a lip liner does. Enhancement of your lip border also helps to fill out the lip lines and wrinkles that cause a “lipstick bleed”.
The body of the lip
One or both of your lips can be enhanced to create a fuller, more voluptuous look, or to correct uneven lips for a more aesthetically pleasing look.
Vertical upper lip lines, or “smoker’s lines”
The softening of these lines rejuvenates the quality of the skin around your lips and again reduces “lipstick bleed”.
The oral commissures, or depressions at the lower corners of the mouth
The two ridges running from the centre of the upper lip to the nose, called the “philtrum”
Subtle enhancement of the philtrum can give you upper lip a more sensuous shape and curve.
The Cupid’s bow found in the centre of the upper lip
Enhancement of the Cupid’s bow, in conjunction with augmentation of the philtrum can create an aesthetically pleasing contour. This can give the impression of a shorter lip and subsequently reverses the tendency to lengthening and flattening of the lip that occurs with ageing.

What will treatment involve?
Dr Rikin will inject the filler (in small quantities) into the areas where you have lines/wrinkles or indents. It will take approximately 20-30 minutes with instant effects.
How do Dermal Fillers work?
HA (Hyaluronic acid) within the Injectable filler gel adds volume to the skin. This plumps and hydrates the skin giving it more volume, but also improving the surface of the skin. Dermal fillers can be used for all different types of facial wrinkles and folds, with more filler being used depending on the individual. This treatment is effective at treating marionette lines around the mouth, nasolabial folds around the cheeks, lines around the eyes or adding volume to the lips.
What is the treatment result?
Reduces the appearance of wrinkles and lines through an immediately noticeable effect. Most patients need one treatment and the results last from 9-12 months.
Dermal Fillers are very safe when carried out by a professional like Dr Rikin. The HA gel is completely natural and is actually re absorbed by the body over time.
What are the possible side effects?
Side effects are temporary including swelling, and some redness. Depending on the individual these can last 48 hours or be almost non-existent.
You should not have fillers if you are pregnant or breast feeding.
Almost instantly, some swelling and redness may take 12-48 hours to disappear.
Be gentle when washing the treatment area. Refrain from touching or rubbing the treatment area for 12 hours.
Avoid subjecting the treatment area to other aesthetic treatments. Use of Sunbeds or Saunas is not recommended for 48 hours post treatment due to risk of infection.
